Time to stop being a stranger...

Hello my wonderful make up followers

It’s definitely been a while since my last post on here, so I decided it was time to let you all know what’s been going on in my world recently.

Since the last time I posted, I have enrolled onto Beauty Therapy at college, at first this is something I wasn't too overjoyed about attending as it wasn't what I aspired to do (I needed to do this before I could attempt a level 3 course on what I really want to do! Keep reading, as more is coming up on this subject later on!!) However I have not only met some amazing people there and had the support of a fantastic tutor. I've actually really started to enjoy this course and getting out of bed on a Monday morning has never felt so great.

So let me fill you in on what I have been learning….

As you can see from the pictures above are some of the eye treatments I have demonstrated. I have learnt how to brow tint, eye lash tint and apply individual lashes. I think this is perfect for any party event as you don’t need to worry about applying makeup if you are looking for a more natural look. If not apply as much as possible!! The lashes I apply come in short, medium, long and extra volume. The ones in the picture are both of medium length.

I am now fully qualified in eye treatments and it’s great to know I've had the support of people around me to help build my portfolio further. The next modules I've successfully passed are manicure and pedicure, below are some examples:

I'll be honest I didn't realise how much a manicure and pedicure entailed, as I have never had the full works myself, up until now... I have realised how many beauty salons cut corners when it comes to how a manicure/pedicure should be. Some of the heat treatments I have learnt are paraffin wax, hot oil and mask. My personal favourite would be paraffin wax, my skin has never felt so soft after using this!

All that’s left to learn of my one year course is waxing (eek) basic make up and facials, I will be keeping this page updated for when I do each of these, I always need volunteers to come into the salon I study at to help gain confidence/portfolio work. So if you are interested, please don’t hesitate to contact me via my contact methods shown over to the right, and I can book you in.

Leading on from this I now also have my own Facebook page, called Sparkle with Teri-Rochelle, as I love anything that’s glitter/sparkles this makes great sense! Keep an eye on this page for upcoming treatments and competitions I will be hosting over the year.

Now…… as mentioned earlier, what my real dreams aspire to be! Me and one of my best friends went to an open day at a local college which specialises in Media Make up, Special effects and Hair, all I can say is ‘WOW that place is amazing’. I had butterflies the entire time and I could kick myself every time I think to myself  ‘why didn't I know what I wanted to do with my life years ago?’ I won’t dwell on this however, as I have learnt many skills through working life, and maybe now I am at a more mature age of where I really understand myself and where I see myself in 5 years’ time.

I’ve already applied for the course which starts in September 2015, I’m now awaiting an interview to which determines if I get a place (fingers crossed!) There will definitely be more on this once I have had an interview to explain what was in the task I have to do. I love a good creative challenge and this seems like a good one that I have been asked to do!

Any tips from any former students/people already doing a media make up course would be perfect J

This is only the beginning of an exciting 2015 in regards to my career! I am excited to share all of it on my page alongside all my favourite beauty regimes and make up ideas in the upcoming months.
I have some new things which will reveal themselves shortly, but for now (as I don’t want to jinx/ruin the surprises along the way).

I hope you have enjoyed reading and see you guys real soon.
